Description

Social media addiction refers to the compulsive and excessive use of social networking platforms that disrupts daily life and well-being. The addictive nature of social media is fueled by features designed to trigger dopamine responses, leading to habitual checking and engagement. This behavior can result in increased feelings of loneliness, decreased self-esteem, disrupted sleep patterns, and diminished face-to-face interactions. To address social media addiction, individuals can benefit from setting usage limits, taking digital detox breaks, and seeking professional support if needed, in order to cultivate a healthier balance between online and offline activities for improved overall well-being.
