Description
Generational trauma is when a group of people, like a family or a community, carries emotional pain and suffering from past experiences, such as war, persecution, or oppression. This pain can be passed down from one generation to the next, affecting how people feel, think, and behave, even if they didn't directly experience the traumatic events themselves. It can show up in many ways, like in family dynamics, cultural practices, or mental health struggles. Healing from generational trauma often involves acknowledging the past, understanding its impact, and finding ways to break the cycle of pain for future generations.
