Description
Waste management involves the collection, transportation, processing, recycling, and disposal of waste materials. It aims to reduce the harmful effects of waste on human health and the environment. Effective waste management includes practices like recycling, composting, incineration, and landfilling. Recycling converts waste into reusable materials, while composting turns organic waste into valuable soil additives. Incineration reduces waste volume and can generate energy, and landfilling safely isolates waste from the environment. Proper waste management helps conserve resources, reduce pollution, and mitigate climate change. It requires collaboration between governments, businesses, and individuals to implement sustainable practices and technologies.
