Description
Plastic pollution is a significant environmental issue characterized by the widespread presence of plastic debris in natural environments, particularly oceans. This pollution arises from sources such as single-use plastics, microplastics, and industrial waste, leading to severe consequences for marine life, ecosystems, and human health. Marine animals often ingest or become entangled in plastic, resulting in injury or death, while microplastics infiltrate the food chain, posing risks to human health. Addressing plastic pollution requires reducing plastic use, improving waste management, promoting recycling, and implementing robust policies to minimize plastic waste and its environmental impact.
