Description
Cyclones pose a significant threat to Myanmar and Bangladesh due to their locations along the Bay of Bengal. These intense storms bring strong winds, heavy rains, and storm surges, causing widespread destruction, especially in coastal areas. Myanmar experienced catastrophic damage from Cyclone Nargis in 2008, while Bangladesh has faced deadly cyclones like the 1970 Bhola cyclone and Cyclone Amphan in 2020. Both countries have made strides in improving early warning systems and disaster preparedness to mitigate the impact of these frequent and devastating natural disasters.
