Description

Food poisoning is an illness caused by consuming contaminated food or beverages. It can result from bacteria, viruses, parasites, or toxins and often leads to symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and stomach cramps. Proper food handling, storage, and cooking practices are crucial to preventing food poisoning. This includes washing hands and surfaces, cooking foods to safe temperatures, refrigerating perishables promptly, and avoiding cross-contamination. While most cases of food poisoning are mild and resolve without treatment, severe cases can require medical attention and can be particularly dangerous for vulnerable populations like children, the elderly, and those with weakened immune systems.
