Description
Food poisoning is often caused by harmful microorganisms such as bacteria, viruses, parasites, or toxins that contaminate food. These microorganisms can multiply rapidly in certain conditions, such as when food is improperly stored or cooked. Common culprits include Salmonella, E. coli, norovirus, and Campylobacter. When ingested, these pathogens can lead to gastrointestinal symptoms like nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and abdominal pain. Proper food handling, storage, and hygiene practices are essential for preventing foodborne illness and minimizing the risk of contamination by these harmful microorganisms.
